Does anyone know for sure what the thread size is for the lube forcing screw in a lyman 450?
It measures 3/8, of that i'm sure, but I think it's 20 tpi thread pitch....an oddball thread.
Are my eyes deceiving me?

It is 3/8-20. I just measured my spare one with a caliper and thread pitch gage.

Thanks Rat-Man for the reply.
And THANKS A LOT LYMAN for using an oddball thread. What would be wrong with normal 3/8 threads.
looks like I'll have fun finding a die to clean up these threads

You can buy a new one from Lyman's parts store for less than a die will cost.
That is why I have a spare with some messed up threads on it as well! :bigsmyl2:

I use a thread file, with a little care you can clean up a buggered thread very nicely with one of these:

item 990-3074 on sale for $8.95 right now
It's just an extra fine thread for delicate measurement's.

Mine has a metric thread, but mine came
to me in a "post bubba" era

I just measured the last one that I have (and it's going in the mail today) and it is 3/8-20. You measured correctly.
