HI All; Has any one loaded Blackhorn 209 in 45 colt cases or into 357 mag cases. Did you use a filler under the bullet? Or a card under the bullet?

Not in 45 Colt but it worked great for me in 44 magnum. I liked it a lot in the 45-90 rifle round (except for the price!) so I thought I would try it my SBH but it was just out of curiosity, didn't see much point in shooting that type of powder in something like that 44 mag. I did use a gasket paper card over the powder and just filled the case so that the powder plus the card just touched the bottom of the 240 gr bullet without any compression, seemed quite mild but slightly hotter than the real BP loads I had tried as a comparison, since the 44 mag and the 45 Colt would be so close when loaded with either BP or a sub I would assume performance would be close.

i love the stuff and use it in my 2 45/70s, accurate and clean. no filler needed as dont have to leave air gaps. 15 percent stronger than real black.
