I plan on using an older Lyman Orange crusher to reload 577-450.
My question is, is the thread pitch the same as those on LEE die's?
Can I use LEE dies in this press?

My Orange crusher uses dies with standard 7/8-14 threads that are machined into the O frame. I think that the lee Dies for the 577-450 uses a different size (1 1/4x12 thread) than the standard threads. They will work in the Lee Classic cast because it has a Threaded die adapter that accepts standard 7/8-14 dies, remove and the press accepts 1 1/4-12 large series dies.

My orange crusher accepts all the standard dies including all the Lee dies that I have.

The Orange Crusher I have has the adapter to take standard die's also.
But what's the thread under the adapter?

I bought mine back in the late 80's and it did not come with any adapter. It only takes standard threads (7/8-14 ).
How old is yours?

Maybe you could check it with a bolt from a hardware store that has 1 1/4-12 threads ?

I just called the old boy about when he bought it and he said about 10-15 year's ago, just before his arthritis stopped it all.
