Hi,
Just closed a deal on a new to me Contender. Included in the deal is several hundred new IMI 44 Magnum brass. Not familiar with this brand. Anybody have any opinions good or bad about this brass? All opinions are appreciated.

What would be a fair price per 100?

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

It is excellent brass!! I would love to find more someday!!

I have .44, 357 and .223.

Next to Federal, it is my all time favorite .44 mag brass
It is from Israel, and I don't think they export it any more.

Israel Military Industries, the same people who brought you the Uzi. Good brass, but I have not seen any in a few years.

Several years ago we did a test of various brands of revolver brass for long range revolver checking uniformity of:

Weight
Length
Square mouths
Wall thickness
primer pocket depth uniformity
Flash holes centered & uniform

In every one of those IMI came out ahead, I search for and use IMI whenever possible. It used to be fairly available but is kinda tough to find anymore. The last I found a few years ago was a 500 round lot of 357 and I bought it in a heart beat.

Wideners used to import IMI components but haven't seen any available in quite a while. It's top notch brass. I still have 1k new IMI .357 brass I've been hoarding for a long time, that I just can't bring myself to stuff them with powder and bullets for some reason.

I have a bunch of IMI brass in 7.62x39 and it is excellent brass. I wish I could find more but haven't seen any in ages. You are lucky to get some.

Hi,
Thanks to all for the responses. I am probably going to have an excess. What would be a fair price per hundred? If interested in any shoot me a PM with offer. It will be 2-3 weeks before it arrives. It is all unfired.
Thanks
Doug

HOLY FLASHBACK BATMAN! After my brother died back in `03 I cleaned out his estate and sold everything. He was a big IMI brass user. By big I mean as many calibers that they offered that he loaded for he had by the K`s! I kept brass for some of my reloading calibers and sold some of these cals. about a year back here on the site. It is strong brass and lasts a lot of loadings.Robert

A company here in wv called mountaineer cartridge company uses IMI MATCH cases. I used to buy 45 acp just so i could have the brass. IMI is the best brass i have ever used!

I loved the stuff, I still have a 1k of .308 match untouched and I've been using the .45 ACP for years, only sad thing with them is losing a few in the grass.

Back in the 80's, I used to buy IMI 06' for $7 something a box, pull the bullets and load soft points. Tis very good stuff

I started shooting most of my 45ACPs in a Blackhawk for that very reason. None of my hoarded brass hits the ground now.

I've been tumbling some of my 38 brass stockpile and have noticed quite a few. I'll have to weed those out of my sorting. Never used them before.

I reformed 1000 match .308 cases to 7-08 and I've got close to 30 reloads out of them. I wish I had more.

IMI brass is great stuff.

As far as pricing per 100.

If you were to buy it, anything less than 25 cents a case is a steal, 25.00 per 1000.

Bigger caliber revolver brass goes for much more, because we(revolver shooters) dont want to go chase our brass, and get many more loadings out of it than semi auto shooters, so when people have it for sale, its higher than semi auto brass prices.

I have a bunch of IMI rifle brass and really wish I could find more!
I never tried their handgun brass but would not hesitate to use it.

Hope this is not off too far...I've got some Independence 5.56 that says made in Israel, imported by Federal. Any good reports on these?
