Knowing I'm going Elk hunting this fall and decided to fire up my lead melter and get some more practice/hunting ammo made. I plan on shooting regularly this year with my rifle so I get really good at it for hunting. More so than normal, because I don't want any excuses on why I didn't get one. Well the only excuse that will be valid is if I don't see one. :D
I found my RCBS 35 200 2C mould and cast up a bunch. Then it dawned on me, I have a 4C of this one some where.
Well after digging around for about an hour in the man cave, I found it! it was an NOE RG4! Sweet!
Well for grins I put two HP pins it and 2 FP pins. I worked at casting with it for a spell, then checked the dropped boolits. No keepers. :( Turns out I had not given this mould the normal treatment before I started casting with it! Ah a new uncast with mould, didn't think I had any left..
So I put all 4 HP pins in it, worked it over per usual and set to casting a pile of HP boolits. These are all WW material water quenched. Got them all sized and lubed today, now I get to wait two weeks till they harden properly. Then load and shoot. :)
Here is a picture of them. I would ask what one is the RCBS mould but you'll be able to tell due to the HP quite quickly.
There is one small difference in the NOE vs the RCBS mould. See if you can tell.
