Anyone fire lapped a 44 with a 24" barrel? I was using 2.5g of Bullseye to lap my revolvers, which got the bullet out of the barrel...usually. Don't really relish removing a stuck bullet from a long tube.

I used two grains in a sixteen inch 9mm and about half of 'em made it out the muzzle. Lots more bore friction with a 24 inch 44 I'd think. I'd probably go to five or so. I agree removing stuck boolit sucks.

It might take less than you think, having no barrel/cylinder gap to bleed off pressure. 2.5 might be kinda light though.. 3.5 grains is my guess. Don't load 100 to start though :)

the best sorta polishing job on the inside of a barrel is to shoot paperpatch boolits thru it. they will make such a smooth bore ... it is amazing.

While I bet that is true bigted, firelapping does more than just polish.

I used 3 grains of bullseye in my Winchester 45 one thing to remember if possible shoot with the gun angle at 45 degrees or more. You get better ignition of the light powder load
