I've been out of Unique powder for some time.
everytime I visit my LGS, I ask...have you received any Unique ?
the answer is always ..."NO, several people have been asking."

Well, I got a call this morning...they got 10 one pounders in.
I asked if they could set aside a couple til this afternoon (as they
are limiting sales to 2 lbs right now)
He said, "No problem Jon" :)

They are Great !
But, sadly Unique hasn't gone down in price...but $22 a lb with NO Hazmat is better then some other prices I've 'heard of' from other people online that find it.

Similar thing at my LGS but they won't call, I showed up 3 weeks ago and they had Unique in stock, including the 8lb'er that came home with me.

Congrats Jon!

Not a bad price. Considering what a buddy told me what he paid on Gunbroker, you did great!

A few weeks ago, seem like everyone around here had some powder- not a full load
but at least some variety. I went yesterday and shelves everywhere are empty again
except one place had about 40 1 pounders of IMR4198 for 28 bucks a can.
One of LGS went under last month becasue they simply could not get product to sell. :(

Congrats on your find - I'd send the wife or "uncle Joe" in for a couple more :)

I rely on all my LGS's for ALL my powders and primers.

Jus today I stopped by one I was passing. They had hundreds of boxes of any kind of primer you could want. No limit. Price $3.70/100. Picked up a thousand.

They have almost any kind of powder you could ever want. No Unique, but I would not haul that stuff home for $5/#! I do not like it ....Sam I AM. I do not like Unique and ham!

And I always buy local......keeping my money in locals stores! Never order powder or primers thru the mail. Same with most reloading stuff.

I don't really have a choice but to buy over the internet as their really are no local stores. Owners of the few around says it costs to much to even keep the powder and primers and with the red tape that they couldn't make anything on them. The even go to PA to buy their personal supplies. Now the idiots at the state are on the kick to reduce mags from 15 to 10 again - they think the bad guys are gonna agree and not break the law while breaking the law. I couldn't find an emote to reflect how stupid they are.

Cost me $31 a one pound can for HP38 which is the same as win 231, but no one around here sells powder. So gotta suck it up and pay the price, got it from a dealer buddy who sells reloading stuff and firearms. Last 8lb jug of 4759 cost me 180 bucks and glad to get it. When I started out it was unheard of anyone buying the 8lb jugs, now it seems to have swung the other way as the powder supply is so unpredictable.Frank

Yeah. I don't buy hardly any powder or primers from the LGS's around here. They all think they're doing you a favor. Primers ?? Why yes, 38.00 per 100. No, no, I want at least 1,000. Sorry sir, we only sell them by the 100. No thanks fellas. Powder ?? Why yes. 36.00 a can. Which one did you like ?? Yeah, right. So I wait for the gun shows and hope the powder and primers guy has a spot. Mike

Seeing those prices on unique is strange, WHEN we get it in here it is 2199 at one lgs and 23.99 at another. 2400 runs about the same, everything else typically runs 29.99 to 34.99. I haven't seen any 8 pounders of anything I have a use for in at least 2 years.

No Unique in sight here, but they did have Trail Boss this morning. First time I've seen any in 14 months. $21/can.

I checked a local LGS on Friday again. Not one solitary pistol powder or 4198. It has been that way for a month there. Plenty of slow burning rifle powders though.
