I know many of you are like me and like pics. So here's one with the 3 bullets from my new Accurate Mold mingled with a couple of cast projectiles for reference:

That's a .457" (~.455") ball, and the dark lead bullet is a 255 grn Kaido bullet. From left it's the 170C, 195C, and 285C. They all have a .375" meplat.

I wanted them to be as compact as possible so as not to take up as much powder capacity in my pistols, and also gave them a wide nose for a larger hole. I increased the bearing surface a bit so as to create more pressure and keep them in place better under recoil.

My father is coming down for a few days, and I told him to bring his Colt 1860. Certainly be shooting them then! And I'm anxious!

I'm hoping they are bacon getters!

I wish I had a chronograph as I'd like to see if the 170C can equal the velocity of a .457" RB as it's only .400" long.

I'm also anxious to see how they shoot out of my slow twist Pietta. I've read quite a bit on how these just don't shoot conicals very well. With the 195C being only .460" long it ought to do better than a typical conical (Lee 200 grn RN).

A Chrony F1 can be had for about $100 or so. Or drive down to Florida and we'll test them with my F1.

A chrono is on my looooooong list. Maybe I'd fare better if I stick it in my Christmas list…

But we have been talking about going to Disneyland!

That's in Kalifornia. Disney World is about 2 hours north of me.

Disneyland is well and good, I suppose, but I've never passed a weekend wishing I'd been in Disneyland. I have on the other hand passed many a weekend wishing I'd been out shooting. And no one dressed up like Mickey or Pluto ever got up in my face and harassed me while I was out shooting, nor have I had to stand in line to shoot.

Maybe your shooting place is different though. In that case I'd suggest finding a better place to shoot, and they don't have those in Disneyland.

Now, if they let you stalk pigs with a 44 in Disneyland, I might consider going a second time, but not otherwise. Same goes for ski resorts. I've been skiing many times, but then I realized that they have that beautiful mountain setting, a perfect place for it, and yet they fail to offer shooting lanes here and there on the mountain. What's the point of that? You go up, you go down, and there are no places to shoot anywhere in between. I don't get it. There's a huge opportunity, a niche market, just waiting for someone with enough common sense, vision and class to take advantage of it.

There are at least three of them loose on grounds of the Magic Kingdom:

They might not taste very good though.

I grew up 1/2 hour north of Disneyland and by the time I graduated high school, I was averaging 3 trips a year and in my senior year, went 3 times in June <whew>. I've been there twice since 1989 and haven't missed it.

Would much rather have a chrony.

Who wants to go up and down a mountain and not shoot?!?! What a waste of time and scenery!
