Does anyone use this reloading program ?

Is it worth the $152.95 ?

Lots of folks here use it, & it seems to be highly recommended. I want it myself
but the price causes me to choke a little bit. On the other hand, if I had bought
it years ago it likely would have saved me the purchase price and then some,
in the reduction of wasted powder and primers searching for a load

I use it and there is a section here at Cast Boolits just for Quick Load.

Back out of this thread and then back out of the "Our Town" section then scroll down to the "Reloading Equipment" Section.
The sticky thread for QuickLoad is, at present, right at the top of the sticky section.

Great program really but I've never taken the time to learn to use it to it's full advantage. I had one of the very first ones sold so I just kept getting the updates. I need to get the newest version in fact when I get around to it...lol.

Absolutely valuable. Must have. Since I got it, I would not be without it. Well worth the money for us boolit shooters since we are always trying to use combinations that are not in loading manuals.

I've had it for maybe two weeks, I think. And I've found it to be invaluable in this short amount of time. I only wish it worked better for straight wall cases and included SR4759 since I just bought a lot of it. But I knew it didn't include SR powders before buying.

I've found Quickload to be very nice. For me it has save a lot of time not to mention the powder and bullets I've saved. Quickload has never steered me wrong but I still do not trust any one source of infomation and double check with my Lyman manual and several others before I actually put a round together. Better safe than sorry.

Haven't even looked at paper manual since I got it. I can "test" a dozen different options for a particular case and projectile without even leaving the keyboard. I've pay twice what they ask.

Once you buy the program electricity is cheep and the program will pay for itself rather quickly along with giving yourself a greater understanding of internal ballistics.

I've had a copy for a while now. Best "reloading manual" I've ever bought. I still check printed and internet loads as a cross reference, but like someone said earlier in this thread, I'd pay twice the asking price for it.

It's allowed me to develop some really oddball loads. I'd say it's worth it.

It's given me some very off the wall results with 5744 powder though, predicting pressures much higher than real world testing has shown. My copy is outdated though, so that could have been fixed by now. I've been meaning to order the update disks, but I just never remember to do it.

I use it all the time and can't do w/o it. Yes, it is worth the money.

I was excited when he told me that I can add my own bullets to the database and use them for calculating loads. Sounds just a bit better than 'guess-timating'… I will be adding the custom BTsniper bullets to the database once I get my dies ;-)

How do you convince a woman to buy this for her birthday when its not for her?

You can use Parallels on a MAC and run windows programs so you can have both worlds.

Say goodbye to the rest of your day while you start playing with it. I spent the time and added all my firearms to it.

Today is Friday and he has two and a half days to play with it, what a way to spend the weekend.

I'd love to have it, just to be able to fiddle with seating depths for handgun bullets. It seems that there are very real differences in pressure when you change the seating depth by a .45 Colt by .005".

Fantastic program, hard to stop trying different recipes… For you guys that haven't seen this yet, here is a printout of a PP load for my 9mm

Be very careful w/ straight wall case loads. It's predictions can be very erratic. I personally don't trust them like I do w/ bottle neck cases. I ran the program against my numbers for one of my 357s and it was off to much.
