I have about 100# of approx. 96:2:3 alloy in muffin ingots, my two 20# pots are heating up, and my clean six cav Lee 452-200-SWC is on the hot plate set at low. Big weather front is moving in with rain, sleet, then snow predicted later today and tonight and tomorrow. I'll see how long my back holds out. I get to try the new refrigerant type mould lube for first time, just the tiniest dib on critical areas only. I think I will go for about 50# of keepers today and then break-out the Lyman 460 four cav mould some other day See y'all later.....

Weather here is off and on rain. Also low on lead so going to reload the ones I've cast in past week

I cast through the year, mostly on rainy days. I am lucky enough to get to shoot 2 or 3 times per week and use more ammo than I care to admit, shame on me! I managed to last through about 40# of casting today and have a little more than that left in my lead supply. I have to scrounge more.

How does your six cav Lee 452-200-SWC cast for you ? I have one and use the 2% Tin, 3% Antimony alloy; bullets come out .450-.451, too small for my use. How about yours ?

I have used the Lee six cavity 452-200 for the last five years with either 10:1 or 20:1 alloy. They consistently drop at .453 to .454. Never tried any of the alloys with antimony as yet.

I use COWW and size thru a Lee .452 sizer after the first coat of LLA. Sizer just touches the edge to true it up a bit. Shoots as well as I can hope for in my Colts.

I just cast using my first Lee mold, the 452-200-RF.. I used 50% COWW and 50% Pure lead then added 1% pewter for fill out. They are supposed to come out 452 but they are coming out .455 to .456 so I have to size to 452.. Nice mold though for a Lee

Pretty sure I didn't even cast a shadow. Did a bit of paper shuffling and lots of reading. Range trip cancelled due to weather. Need to have a smelting session before summer gets here but it can wait. Maybe next weekend.

I have scads of Lee 6 cavity molds and this one is the only one of the lot that gives me any grief. However, the boolits it makes with my very similar to yours alloy is right about .453 which is perfect for lube sizing in a .452 die. The are round and very rarely drop rejects. When this mold was new it whipped my butt over dropping wrinkled boolits. Run it hot, run it cold, scrub it again and again, use extra sn. Then it finally came around to my way of thinking. It still tends to loosen the bolt that holds the stud where the spru plate locks in. It is still stubborn to drop the boolits form the center two cavities. Its the only Lee 6 cavity I have that needs a good whack on the hinge nut from my hammer handle ever so often. If I was not so lazy, I would Leement it with Mother's Billet Aluminum polish.
