I had a Magtech 32 gauge brass shell separate in my 43 Egyptian rolling block. Any ideas of how to get the headless case out? I did try a 30 cal. military ruptured case extractor but I could not get enough of it to grab the case mouth. thanks ahead of time.

I've heard of grabbing the inside of the case body with a tap... Never tried it.

A large bolt will do the same. Thread the bolt into the remains of the case then with a cleaning rod or similar push it out from the muzzle to the breach. Something with a bit of taper like a lag bolt works good. Grind the point flat for the cleaning rod to rest on.

Wow, in the time you guys wrote that, that is what I thought of and did but the non threaded area is to big. Over to the bench grinder to fix that! I report back if I don't get to consumed in happy hour.

Works the same with a straight wall case.
Nothing sharp or hard to hurt chamber.

Over size bore brush?

Like Hackleback says use a oversize bore brush and run it into the case and then reverse it. Works for me every time...............Terry

I've done something similar with my SMLE except I dropped a fired 9mm slug in the chamber then poured lead into the chamber. Knocked out real easy with a AL cleaning rod when cooled.

99756Got it out. I pushed an empty 45 acp case in the stuck case and filled with lead. It popped out on the third dropping of the ramrod down the barrel. thanks for all the help I did try the screw/bolt but it didn't work for me.

My age is showing here--did you pour the lead down the barrel? Not sure how this works

That's sure what it looked like to me as well. Should I ever end up with another ruptured case I intend to give that a try. I assume hard lead is better than the soft stuff I cast my bullets with? Or does it matter?

I'm wondering also. Did ya pour lead down the barrel?

Yes, simply poured molten lead (wheel weight alloy) to fill the empty case. I put a smaller case to stop the lead from flowing through the neck.

OK, thanks. I never would have thought of that. Hope I never have to remember this trick

He plugged the bore with the pistol case and poured the lead into the chamber.

Good one! Very glad that worked out for you.

You might also be able to use a rat tail file if sizes match. twist it into the brass and it grabs tight.

A gunsmith taught me how to release a stuck case when I had a head separation. Push a tight patch into the bore stopping just ahead of the stuck case mouth. Pour molten antimony (not lead) into the chamber. When cooled, tap it out with a cleaning rod. Why not lead? He said, "lead shrinks slightly as it cools and antimony does not". His words, not mine. I've used it many times over the years and it always worked for me.
