I want to make a 19 inch barrel look alittle longer. I know nothing of muzzle breaks except my 444 has one. What would you do and what pattern and size for holes do you recommend. This is cosmetic only to cover up my tite wad ways for buying cheap short barrel instead of proper length.

browning BOSS.

or in other words, 3" long tube tapped on one side for the proper threads. Basically, an extra long thread protector.

Do you have a community college in your area? Most have machine shop classes starting from ground zero... and the instructors tend to be less ragingly liberal than the academic faculty. In fact the whole engineering department at mu local CC is better than cool! Since I'm an adjunct Bio Instructor, I get to hang out with them when it suits my fancy.

It isn't the cheapest solution (~$90-100 plus installation) but why not look at a good compensator like those by J.P. Enterprises? They reduce the muzzle rise significantly, possibly letting you see the bullet strike. I've shot 3 rifles with JP compensators- an AR-15 in .223, A JP Rifle in .260 Rem and a highly odified Remington 700 in .308 and all stayed on target through recoil to the point of letting the shooter do his own spotting.

What about one of those politically incorrect flash suppressors?
Either way I would overbore the innerds for accuracy purposes.
