"Light" PP .45 mould.

Would anyone know if a "light" .45 PP mould is available. I have a 530 gr RCBS mould but would like a 350/400 gr if available.
Or is it a custom cut mould?

get an adjustable one from KAL then you can have any length you want, I have cast them down to 292 with it,

I would suggest if you get an adjustable mould I would consider a round or flat nosed bullet. These will shoot well short and light better than a longer nosed like a Postell type nose.

My Brooks adjustable nose pour cup base will adjust down to around 375 grns but dosnt leave much "drive length" behind the nose. On the other side it will open up to almost 600 grns in wieght. It is a postell / money style nose for longe range shooting. Right now it is set at 500 grns.
Talk to some of the makers see what they recomend and offer.

If the twist on your barrel is 1-18 that light of a bullet may or may not shoot well.
My suggestion would be to get a 1.1 inch long bullet, that will bring the weight in right around 410 grs depending on the diameter, and is the original length of bullet used in the 45-70, and does shoot well in 1-18 twist barrels.

I have a 400gr. flat nose one from Accurate, and it is - it shoots very well, at least to 500M. Fairly short nose so it is mostly parallel body. I use it in both the 45-70 and in a muzzle loader.

I use any 45 cal mold, just size it down the patch it up to where you want

Just a thought, Lee makes a 300 grain flat point.
