Is the Ruger No 1 action strong enough for the 475 A&M mag. Any help or comments are most welcome Thanks olddudeone

Is there any factory loaded ammo for that round? If not you can load it to any "pressure" you want and keep it safe. You could probably re-barrel a Trapdoor Springfield for it and load ammo that would be safe. I recommend SSK for that kind of work. I've always been extremely happy with their work. Steve

No factory load but Ackleys book says 3000fps with a 500 grain bullet almost 10,000 fp of energy thanks olddudeone

I have a #1H that I rechambered from a .458 win Mag out to a .460 Weatherby and it shoots fine.

More like 2350-2400 fps more or less , and less than 50,000 psi ..

No problem for the Number one
