Todays Denver Post paper had am insert from Cabelas. They advertized Winchester Tacticle (the black colored stuff) at $44 and change for 1,000 rounds. I do not need any 22 ammo and I know that there was a recall on this stuff (I am sure Cabelas would not sell from that lot) but this is the first 22 ammo I have seen advertized in a couple of years. Might be encourging.

Plan on being there at least 3 hours prior to the store opening to get one of the maybe 5 boxes they might have.

I am pretty sure Cabelas can get 22 LR now or over that last few months and held several cases back for this sale. Even the little stores get a couple cases every couple months. It's not like they quit making the stuff.

One of the local stores recently received 60 cases of 2,000 rounds. They sold it in less than a day. 2 brick max.

Doesn't explain why some stores only get 2 of everything though, 2 bricks, 2 boxes, not 2 pallets....... I find it hard to believe that the suppliers are keeping up with any demand at even 24/7 operations, and not sure they can based on materials they need to produce the ammo, as in lead. Just my thoughts.

My local walmart is fully stock on all but 22LR and 22WMR. They have not had a 500,525,325,555 round box in the last six months. I know who takes care of the ammo and they do get in some stingers but there is always the local dealers there to buy them up asap at 7am. They then take to there store and resell them for almost 7 times as much. This is why I hate the modern day dealer. Good luck if you go stand in line at the store. Oh and screw buds gun shop. They wont sell anything to us NYers. Sorry had to toss that in there. To be honest I think that will be my sig for this forum.

I've pretty much given up on .22's for the time being- light loads in the .223 are cheaper anyway.

Local pawn shop got some bulk 22lr in 500 round bricks. $149.95 per brick. I can reload a lot cheaper than that. Even if I bought boolits instead of cast them myself.

Yeah, I arrived at the Lone Tree, CO, Cabelas this morning at about 7:15. The parking lot was packed, and the lines from each entrance door stretched to the ends of the sidewalks and into the lot.

I still have plenty of .22, I just thought I'd try to pick up a little more. But I'm not going to stand in line and shiver in the cold with hundreds of other yahoos for the chance to maybe get lucky. Nope. Ain't gonna do it. Came home and had coffee.

Wow, I missed this post - are you freakin' kidding?!?!?! $150 for a brick of 500? Guess who I'd never do business with ever again.....
