A buddy of mine found this at a yard sale and sent me this snap- Doesn't ring any bells with me, but there are a lot of smarter people here than me...

That's a Hollywood junior press. A really curious design.

Hollywood presses are rugged to say the least! I have a 1950 ish "Senior". I wouldn't part with it!! If that "JR" needs a home PM me!!

A question I forgot to ask. Does it have a shellholder?
It takes Hollywood H type shellholder but with a special nut.
And for those who think it is really strong. The handle is cast iron, everything else is aluminum.

Looks like a good design from which to start mods. Like more hand room or it was designed for elves

Did it take proprietary dies?? That is, even different that the angled Hollywood press??

It's designed for elves. The three vertical rods former a cage that the carrier rides in. It's subject to twisting and binding. The fit has to be very close for smooth operation.
You have to stick your hand in the cage to put a case in the shellholder.
The dies are standard 7/8-14.
Hollywood claimed in their advertising that it would stage bullets. Through the light weight construction would cause me to not do so.
It came out in 1953 and stayed around until 1961 as a catalog item. Examples made later suggest that there was a lot of parts left over and presses continued to be assembled for several years.
