Awhile back I was in a bit of a discussion on this forum concerning fluxing. I said I didn't flux much, just skimmed off the crud and used kitty litter on top. There was so much talk about using sawdust I finally had to see what is was all about. I had some cedar bedding and used it on top of the melt. Well I gotta say my bullets are cleaner than ever before and my pot even stays clean. Thanks gentlemen for dinner.

The day one quits learning, is the day one dies.

No one was born as a caster ....... I consider myself as still a beginer and I've fooled with this stuff going back to the early nineties .......

We all have different starting points and different trajectories (ie. how intense we pursue the craft) .... but it gets pretty clear fairly soon as you enter this forum ........ the real "salt's" really stand out and with a little bit of humility and a bit of listening ........ you can get some very fine advice here from some very fine folks!

Glad you picked up some tricks ....... and hope you gain lots more!

Best regards

Crow can be tasty if cooked properly. Just ask any coyote

Have you read this book?

Yup, we all know the flavor! There is so much to learn and so much of the advice seems, well, suspect. This forum is one place where you will move forward with your craft based on sound advice.

Even though ive been casting boolets since the mid 1970s and have over 500,000 to my credit ! you never stop learning ! this past year after a idea from another fourm member, I add styro packing peanuts to the surface of the water in my 7gal water dropping from the mould bucket to greatly reduce water splash.
