I have a set of 500 sw magnum dies and the seating die does not permit me to bell the case so I could seat a .501 cast bullet without shaving it.....it I make one big enough the case wont enter the die ....any solution or do you know if RCBS or LYMAN seating die are larger..... thanks Canuck

I would use a heavy punch , dropped in the case it flares them nicely with practice, Some have used the needle nose pliers method, just insert and push as you turn to get the bell as you wish.

I think I would ship the die back to Redding, with a note explaining your problem. It sounds as if they cut the seater just for .500 diameter jacketed slugs. It's nice that they strived to keep the tolerances tight, but it kinda screws you for shooting boolits, something I think they should have taken into account. I believe my brothers dies are Hornady for his .500, and he had no problems loading .501"+ boolits, I don't know about Lyman or RCBS. Good luck.
