As we're experiencing temps in the 60s, my mind turns to casting. But not boolits!
Crappie lures is what I'm thinking about!

OK no jigs
But I will soon be needing a bunch of egg sinkers for walleye fishing
So IMO it counts

It's a heat wave here too...45 and cloudy. Not thinkin' of nothing but what I'm going to have to look forward to tonight and tomorrow...Heavy rain turning to heavy snow about midnight. Up to 10 inches by tomorrow afternoon. Come on spring...

Crappie and walleye, hmmm, ya'll are making my mouth water. Water is still a bit thick here, will be till sometime in late April or early May.

Around here we have about an inch of soft water sitting on top of 18" of hard water, still got idiots sitting out there trying to catch fish......

I'll confess to being one of the idiots. Last couple of days I've been slopping around in a couple inches of water and melting slush on top of nearly 3 feet of ice. But under that ice, good old Mississippi River crappies. Geese honking, golden eyes whistling over head, and crappies biting, I love this time of year.

I've already spent a couple days getting egg sinkers and worm sinkers ready for the fishing season. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

LRoss - Looks like you have a nice perch and a bluegill to add flavor to those crappies!
