Greetings
The price and how they sell will determine if there is a second batch sent out.
CZ tried this some years back. Price was near $980.00. I could buy 2 of the good Monsoms for that kind of money and have a proven entity in my bony little fingers.

One has to wonder about the collective wisdom of the people running that company...a 357 Magnum ,for Xzzzzzsake.. If they used the same amount of labor to produce 414, or 445 Supermags, 460 Rowland,.45 Colt,or 454 C. they could have sold out this product run by taking deposits before starting production.. So true. I guess the collectors value of my Monson is about to hit the fan. Good luck finding a good used any DW for too much under that 900. You likely won't find many as most of us with DW are bitter clingers.

In all seriousness all my DW shoot great. If just ONE company out there would take the time to make revolvers like was EXPECTED 20 years ago they would sieze the market. Easy on the flaming here but when semi auto groups were accepted as normal, revolver accuray plummeted as the expectation was not there. My older DW will shoot circles around these new ones unless they are from Freedom or the Performance center. I do have a custom bbl on my .41 mag but just felt it could do even more. Glad I did. Here is the target from load research.Hope the new 715 is as good as the Monsons. 99170

My Monson built .41 just informed me that he and the others in the safe are awaiting their long lost cousin as they look like they could be brothers.

Back when Seth Wesson owned the company I picked him up at LAX & put him up in my RV at the range for the NRA National Long Range Handgun Championships held at LASC. I spent that week trying to talk him into selling me a DW revolver but no joy, he wouldn't sell. He had with him a prototype I really wanted, never before or since have I seen a revolver chambered in 7-30 Waters.

That new CZ Wesson sure is purty but if it's only available in 357, well I don't know what I would need another 357 for.

At the local gun show here last weekend a guy had a near 100% Dan Wesson 6 inch 414 Super Mag for sale along with a few boxes of factory ammo. He wanted $1800.00 for it. He still has it.

A company did exactly as you posted. Their name is U.S. Firearms and they had a waiting list longer than the Empire State Building is tall. Then they gave everybody the finger and started producing the Zip 22 which by all accounts, and from actually playing one, is an epic failure of epic proportions. However; this thread is about the Dan Wesson revolvers.

I'm not interested at all in the 357 magnum, but a 45 Colt or 454 Casull would make me get my wallet out.

My only experience with Dan Wesson was in about 1983. I bought a 357 magnum in the pistol pack. It came with four barrels, a pile of sights, and some other things in a nice case. I was all happy with my purchase. I took it home and cleaned the barrels. Two of them were really screwed up inside. They must have had a newby running the machine that cut the grooves. I took the whole thing back the next day and got my money back. The clerk didn't say anything after he looked down the barrels.

I mentioned that I saw one at our LGS - - - which has special connections to CZ, about
a year ago. Nobody seemed much interested when I posted it here. It looked and
handled like a very well made gun.

LOL! Love Life - agree totally on switching from beautiful Colt SAA clones that were better
than the Colts to those ridiculous, unwieldy sillinesses that he calls the Zip. Looks and
handles (held one at a gun show) about like a strange AR15 scope mount, minus the
scope. . . . . . nothing like a gun. I have wondered if it will wind up that the owner
had a stroke or brain tumor. Going that far off the edge would seem to require something
wrong upstairs. I own a couple of USFA SAA clones, one if very nice, the other is a work
of art.

dw's are hard to beat, hope the new one's are as accurate as the old ones are. Most shooters don't know the potential of these fine revolvers & their ability to change out bbl's, shrouds, sights, grips, weights, muzzle breaks along with the triggers that are extremely easy to work on.

A couple of daily drivers with heavy bbl shrouds & muzzle breaks that get a steady diet of Mihec's 359-640 158gr hp's with full house loads of either herco, power pistol or longshot. The 4" bbl'd dw weighs as much as a 6" bbl's s&w 586.

99206

I do keep a 3rd dw around to use 4", 6" & 8" conventional bbl's with. Need to pick up a 2 1/2" bbl sooner or later.

99207

I wish dw would come out with a silhouette 22lr again. They dominated that sport for decades & used ones will easily sell for $1100+.

My experience with Dan Wesson was in about the mid 80's. I bought a 357 magnum in the pistol pack. It came with four barrels, a pile of sights, and some other things in a nice lined case. I was happy with my purchase, still carry it today best firearm I've shot in years Will the new 715's have interchangeable barrels like the Older ones do?? Forrestr they still dominate I just wish I had a shorter barrel for the 22lr,mine is a 83/8" kinda heavy these days[smilie=1:

Does anyone remember DW's effort at a snub nose, the "Little Dan"?

I dug up a Google image of the rare Dan Wesson "Lil' Dan" 38 Spl only.

I have never seen one in person. If I do find one, I know LB Custom makes a nice grip for it. (far right)

About 4 years ago I picked up an early 80 's blued 44 mag with the 8 inch barrel, new in the box never fired. Came from a collector's wife after her husband passed. Best shooting pistol I've ever held in my hands. Had Eric over at EWK Arms make me a 2 1/2 inch extra heavy barrel and shroud. Also picked up one of his muzzle brakes. Shoot's great for a shorty. Can't wait to see if the new 715 shoots as good as my 44.

I probably am not interested in a new Dan Wesson .357 revolver since I have a Monson mdl 15 but I do wonder if they might even be more accurate than the originals.

Picked up the new Dan Wesson 715 a few weeks ago but haven't had the time yet to really wring it out. I'm a S&W guy at heart but couldn't get by the urge to add a DW to the collection. First impressions are very favorable. Looking forward to spending some range time next week to see if Dan's are as accurate as I've been told. I'll post a full range report in the near future.

Have had a Dan Wesson 44vh pistol PAC for 35 years with 4 6 and 8" barrels and just picked up a 445 which are near impossible to get in Calif. Lucked out and paid only 800 for it, it shoots out to 200 yards with ease like the 44 but with power to spare, will try it out to 300 yards later this year. Don't need their new 715, if they would make the line of Supermags again I would buy one of each.
