My 20yr old son had his gall blatter removed on friday because he has vomited every meal he has ate for he last month.
Something went wrong with the surgery or their is somehing else wrong.
He has severe pain on his right side. He doctors have ran a gauntlet of tests since friday and everything is coming back normal. Blood work,ct scans, hida scans, scoping and all the other tests are normal.
Nomal pain dosage for dilaudid (opiate) is .2 ml, he is receiving 2 full mgs every couple hours and it is still not stopping the pain. His mother is at her breaking point.
Now they are looking at his liver sphincter. 4 days of severe pain. We would appreciate your prayers throughout this. Tank you,
Lab

I have you, your wife, and your son in my thoughts and prayers! I assume appendicitis has been ruled out? For what it's worth, I'd be on 'phone with (other than your) major hospital center personnel. Sometimes another set of (professional) ears "hear" things and -- based upon their professional history -- perhaps suggest a definitive cause and solution. Again, BEST to you all!!!

We are at a level one trauma center, this hospital is the gold standard. We have had i dont know how many specialists and surgeons in here the last few days. I have been trying to get an exploratory surgery done but they want to do another scoping (ercb) and colonoscopy. It sure is hard to see your kids crying and sonbing with severe pain. Thank you folks.

I prayed just now for your son's pain relief, ability to hold down meals and some good results from the doctor and that the Lord is ministering to you and your wife. I'll pray more throughout the day too.

First off Prayers for your family, all of you are impacted. Almost sounds like a spastic or incomplete Sphincter at the Ampulla of vater. An ERCP with Sphincterotomy would/should correct that if it's the problem.

Gi was going to do a ercp but have decided not to due to other tests not showing anything and the risks of the ercp itself. They are going to do something like a mri (mrmm) which is a mri that uses dye to check for leaks.

I assume they have checked for pancreatitis? The bile duct is shared between the gall bladder and the pancreas. Gall stones can get into the pancreas. My brother had that happen. Almost killed him.

Prayers going up for him and for the MDs.

Son was finally released from hospital yesterday evening. Unofficial diagnosis was swelling of internal organs and gastritis coloitis. Fwiw they started him on nexium and the pain is almost gone. Thank you for your prayers as i believe those are the reasons he is doing better!
