94 winchester problem

i have a pre 1964 model 94 winchester 30/30. sometimes when i shoot it the lever pops open slightly and ejector slide moves back a few thousandths. if i grip lever tightly it wont do this. light or heavy loads don't seem to make a difference. any ideas or remedies would sure help!

Don't know for sure if they have lever detent like a '92 but if they do, that's probably the problem.

Mine does that too. I always just assumed I wasn't holding the lever tight enough.
