I made some turkey calls

I finished these up this week. I buy the "pots" and strikers, etc, unfinished and then finish and assemble them.

This is a cocobolo pot with cocobolo and paduak strikers.

This one is bubinga with a walnut and osage orange strikers.

The slate and crystal playing surfaces, with a purple heart and aluminum strikers.

I usually give these away to friends and family, but I did use one once as a partial trade on an old shotgun.

That's really nice work. I've done some box calls from kits. I did 2 wingbone calls. I keep saying I'm gonna do a slate sometime though.

Your work is outstanding. I have tried various slate and glass calls, as well as mouth calls. I can't seem to get the hang of it. I have an old box call that seems to get good results and I just stick with it. But I do like your calls.

those look nice! that's one type of call I have not tried to make. I have made box calls (used one to call two toms in), and wing bone calls. Those sound good, but I have not tried hunting with them yet.

Thanks guys, you're making my head swell. I use slate, box and push-button calls when I'm hunting, never know what those old toms will want to hear. I've never tried a wingbone call.

Very nice work there! I made a box call from cedar, but it doesn't sound that great, guess I'll stick with the lynch box.
