Went by the scrap/steel yard today to order some cut pipe for target stands for our gun club. Had to walk over and see what they might have in the way of lead. Had a spool of soft lead , which looks like might have been for stained glass. Kind of figured it was pure lead. Also in the barrel was the other chunk.

Has a nice yellowish tinge to it, so suspect has a nice amount of tin in it!! :). Might be 15-20 lbs or so.

Had to give $1/pound for the stuff, 46lbs total. Wish someone around here had an analyzer so I could know just how much tin might be there!!

I cant find who it is... I deleted all my old emails.... But you might put an add in swap and sell looking for "element test"

Kinda surprised that the yard couldn`t shoot the block with their analyzer to determine what was the mix.Robert

Stained glass "came". I recycle a lot of it. Some types may have a tin plate to make soldering easier, but it can be treated as dead soft lead. If I see that right, that roll may be sold to a stained glass shop for more that $1.00 / lb. Evil bay has listings for what work out to a dollar for 2 - 3 feet. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/lead-came
