I would like to share a picture of my new mould that arrived today. It's an Accurate Mold, .45 200 grains. This is my second mould by Accurate and I cannot wait until I get a chance to cast with it.

Thanks Tom.

Simon.

Nice!

But what do you shoot these out of, handguns being banned in the UK? :???:

Handguns may be banned, but pistol calibre rifles and carbines and long barrelled revolvers aren't. Under lever Marlins, winchesters, etc are very popular over here.

How much was the mold if you don't mind me asking?

Forgot...It looks like a dandy. Is it Brass? And how did you order it? What did you specify? ( can you tell...I want one?)

No.....I don't think there is a bevel base on that mold above.
possibly this one: http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=45-200U-D.png

The original poster may shine some light on this.

now you got me wondering.
I thought i seen a little turn there on the bottom of the mold.
I wouldn't hesitate to use either one.

I agree, for a 200 grainer the design looks like a solid one.

I don't see the hated bb on that mould. One big problem with that mould, it's too pretty to cast with. I should be put in a shadow box and hung in the living room.

Thanks for the interest. Sorry I have been away from the computer for a day or two.

It is a brass mould There does appear to be a bevel base option and while I have nothing against bevel bases, given the choice I would probably choose a plain base. It was $142 in brass but I think a bit cheaper for aluminium. It works out to be comparable with prices for two cavity RCBS and Saeco moulds over here. So for me it is likely to be custom moulds all the way these days. I am on two group buts for more MP moulds. This mould is the 45-200U. Ordering is a doddle and was within the 4 week turnaround stated, plus the flight over the Atlantic.

As for what I shoot. In the good old days I had a S&W 625 and a H&K P9S in .45 ACP (I still have four mags that I have no use for and really should sell). Both very good guns and accurate enough to make .45 ACP a favourite cartridge. Today I shoot an Armalon PC carbine. A bolt action carbine based on the Lee Enfield No.4 action. I recently bought a second .45 carbine by Southern Gun Company, loosely based on an AR15 style. It works with an interrupted blowback to keep it legal. If you go here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlpMrApeb28 you can see me shooting it.

Thanks.

Simon.
