This is the second batch of bullets that I have gotten from Brian, the first batch was his 44 cal copy of the Hornady XTP. I never got to shoot them since I kept saving them to show off and do something awesome with, but that never happened before my 44 got stolen.

This batch, is two of his 45 cal bullets. All the bullets I have gotten from were swaged from 40 cases, I believe on tools that he makes.

These bullets are both about 240 grain. One is a radical HP, the other is a standard HP

As I test these bullets out for him, I will post the results on this thread. I only loaded one so far, since I don't have any powder. I had a couple of factory 45 colts so I pulled the 240gn bullet and seated his bullet in to the same OAL of my 454. Shot into a bucket of wet sand it expanded some, but not as much as the factory bullets did. This is good, because that means they will hold up well to the 454 loads

Once I get some powder, ill work up some loads, and get targets shot, expansion test, and then try to do some testing on some pigs, and maybe a deer.

I really can't give Brian enough praise for the beauty of these bullets. They all (I weighed about 10) weigh with in .2gn of eachother, and other then the head stamps all look the same, no defects, no wrinkles, no lines. Just perfect. I suck at writing reveiws, but I Definatly give Brian's bullets and work a 12 on a 1-10 scale.

Good to hear they held together as good as the factory bullet. Good looking mushroom. Have fun chasing those TX hawgs with them!

Good hunting!

They actually held up better then factory. Once I get some H110 ill really put em to te test in the 454.

Alrighty. I finally got my hands on some H110. 22grains seems to be right about where I stop getting unburnt powder in the barrel, so we are gonna try that. I loaded up five to take to the range and try on target.

I shot one into my bucket of wet sand. The bullet didn't hold up quite as well as what I would have liked to see, but it didn't do bad either. I probably wont go to hot 454 loads with this as I had been planning. My reloading manual says that this load of H110 should be pulling about 1200 FPS out of a FA revolver...so how ever fast that comes to out of a carbine rifle..

For some reason my phone wouldnt let me post the pics on the last post. Here are the pics to go with it...

I am playing with the big hollow points first frankly because they look more BA and i like BA.

After posting that, I shot a few more to check for consistency. They all look exactly the same.

So +200. Is that a factory type load?

click on the link - then you'd know it an average of 3 different factory type loads

That's why I put the links so you can look at it yourself.

Have you tried core bonding? I've found that I get much better weight retention after core bonding. No need for a flux, I just put them in a Dutch oven. Heat until the lead turns blue, about 15 minutes.

My phone is a 4 year old piece of junk and wont ever load links, and the browser sucks. I'm lucky this app works.
