I am looking at one on Tuesday. It's a two cavity 1940s era iron mold. The only info I've found is an often quoted section of the Frixell book about the evolution of the kieth swc and a post here by Floodgate who seems to be a vintage mold guru that was very active on castboolits around '05 or '08.

I started casting for the fun and history of it and I somehow haven't picked up a 429-421 yet! I'm still working up SBH loads for my Lyman devistator and Lee 310 grain wfn cast boolits and waiting for a deal on a nice four cav. Kieth mold (I would even be happy with a round groove 'Kieth' mold)

Here's what the Modern Bond mold looks like:

Without measuring I'm thinking the ogive might get full diameter for just a tiny front band before the crimp groove. It looks like maybe a slightly smaller meplat than the Kieth, and of course no SWC lip to cut those nice holes in paper.

I'm not shooting for score, and the heavy for caliber lee LFN and lyman devistator HP should have my hunting needs covered, so I'm considering buying this mold to enjoy the history of it and in hopes that it will be a good performer for me at 100 yards on paper. I will jump at $50-80 for it, probably pay $100, and need convincing to pay $100+ when I can just get a Kieth mold for $150 new that's got design history and proven performance.

Any experiences or opinions?

Thanks!

So I saw it- it's beautiful. He wants $150 so he still owns it.

I have a Modern Bond 358-755 that is a fine mold, not quite in the condition of the one you are showing in your picture. I personally think $150 is a bit steep as I only paid $45 for mine.

Yeah it is a pretty mold! I own and enjoy a lot of 'vintage' tools but I like to buy them for less than the price of new tools. I understand that some of the old name brand molds are renowned for their precision but I can't pay more than new Lyman prices for a mold that may or may not shoot well. I did buy a box of sierra .44 240gn jhps mostly for the old greenpaper box with metal corners, and an older rcbs two cavity .457 round ball mold for my BP sixguns. I paid $120 for the rcbs mold buf it came with handles and new ones are $$$. He also had a 7 cav .38 rn ideal armory mold- so pretty but he wanted $250...

I have a couple of Modern Bond molds. Very happy with them. Quality built and ergonomically friendly to use with the shorter handles. Wouldn't trade either of them for brand new Lyman, RCBS, etc molds.
