I noticed these dies while sorting out a pile of loose dies. Here is a link to the thread:

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?232959-A-limited-number-of-die-sets-will-be-available-soon

These dies will be given to a member in good standing of this forum. Helping Hands rules apply. They are:
1. I am giving it away to someone that needs or wants what I am giving away.
2. "I'll take it" doesn't necessarily rule. The giver can "pass" on recipients calling "I'll take it!"
3. The person giving the item pays the shipping so the item is always worth the shipping.
4. The person receiving the gift is not obligated to give anything.

Please post in this thread why I should give these dies to you. I might choose the winner myself or I might have a friend choose the winner. The only guarantee I can give on this is that the choice will not be a random drawing and it will not be an "I'll take it" event.

Eligible members are any member not in danger of ejection from the forum regardless of time of membership, number of posts, or financial ability to just special order these dies directly from RCBS.

These dies came from a commercial reloader. I have cleaned them, but I have not tested them. They are too rare for me own a rifle that uses them. There is no bullet seating stem with them. I suspect they will use a .44 Mag stem and I will provide one. Let me know what bullet or boolit you plan to use and I'll try to find the best one.

I don't need them and won't put my name it the hat.
I would like to hear the story of whoever will put them to use.

I hope somebody can use these, I'd have to find a rifle, and even then, I couldn't afford it.

Good for you, Ron!

Ron,
I don't have a use for these, but want to mention, I like the way you are doing this.
Seems I always come along after the "I'll take it" hits the board 23 seconds after someone post an item.
Between work and sleep, I have only a few hours to look at things and I do several forums besides here.
So, the approach gives people a fighting chance to show they need/want an item.

Thanks for being a sand up sort of guy!

Ron: Those dies are for the 10.75x58R Russian Berdan cartridge. Haven't see to many berdan rifles around, except the one
Hailstone has on Yesterday's Weapons Forum. I think he's on here once in awhile. Maybe he will contact you.

Correction, After rereading your post, I see that it is 10.75x68. That is the mauser cartridge used for
hunting big game in Africa. still not too many rifles around.

Mauser cartridge but x68 length makes it a 30-06 length action and case. I wonder if it was made by necking up the -06?

Rifle first. Dies second.

Oh! Wait a minute! Priorities! Job first! Rifle second! Dies third!

Why try to do things different?

You're not going to win this argument BSjr.. I've tryed it. It's not winable. He's right, you know, he has been doing this longer than you and me put together.

No, not the '06 case head.

According to Ken Howell's great book, cases can be made by turning the belts off .375 H&H cases, annealing neck and shoulder, and trimming to correct length before forming.

The 10.75x68 case measures .495 just ahead of the extractor groove ('06 is .473)..

This is a different case from the 10.75x73 (.404 Jeffery) which runs around .543 ahead of the extractor groove. This is also the head size of the Remington UltraMag cartridges, which use the .404 case-head diameter.

There is a slight shortage of Cape buffalo in Texas.

You would be surprised how many there are. A big bore may come in handy considering the critters some Texas ranches raise. I hope someone comes along and claims these dies to get an old family gun up and running.
