Lugged this around a car swap meet for 2 hours. But for $15 it was worth it. What a chunk of iron, weighs more than most of the new cars there. Ram is a 1 3/8". Monster of a press.98336

Hi,
You stole it!

Advantage, it is not a 'C' type press, some refer to your press as an almost 'U' press, the handle looks like the same handle Herter used on their presses. Your press does not have a lot of spring, then there are the shell holders. If it uses Herter type shell holders you can purchase an adapter.

Nice find at a great price. Is it a Model 100 or Model 400? Herter's shellholders will interchange OK.
This press came on the market in early 1952, well more than a year before the Herter's Model 3. You were expected to prime on Lachmiller's excellent primer tool, not on the press.

I just got one of those a couple of weeks ago, and it appears brand new, never been mounted. I had to pay a lot more than you, mine cost $20.00. I thought it might make a good press for swaging pure lead bullets for long range muzzle loader shooting. It has two position holes on the link for the ram for increased leverage. I planed on turning a shell head holder for the RCBS type shell head holders. Something I don't understand is the slot sideways through the ram. Is this for a tool to eject a swaged bullet from a die? Any way haven't got to work with it yet it is still under the bench until I clear up some other jobs. One heck of a chunk of iron! The toolman.

I picked one up a year or so ago. I have much, much more in mine. But then mine is set up for 10 gauge loading. I figure some day down the road I may want play with it.

I don't recall the threads, but they are finer than the Hollywood 1 1/2 x 12. Maybe 1 1/12 x18??
