These were in with some stuff I picked up. Any ideas what they belong to? The are date stamped on the inside, looks like Oct. 7 1985. Once I know what they are for, I'll get a price and get them listed for sale.

They are the standard grip for K and or N frame revolvers from that period.

I have a K22 that somebody replaced those with some plastic imitation bone grips.
I would love to be able to put it back "right".

I will take them if they are for the K frame.

How do I know if they are for the K or N frame? Are there measurements I can take to be sure?

Many had a stamp on the inside of the grip that said "K" or "N" on them.

They should be marked on the inside with either a K or N, like Bushwacker Berg said. The K and L frames take the same grips. Those are the later grips that were made when speedloaders became popular. The original grips were hard to use with speedloaders and a lot of them were relieved to allow them to feed properly.

Hope this helps.

This is the only marking on it, other than the date. Kind of tough to make out.

They look just like the ones on my 686

Wouldn't that make them L frame then? Are they neither K nor N?

They look like K/L Square Butt Targets to me.

The K and L frames take the very same grips. The letter was normally stamped into the wood on one side or the other.

Hope this helps.

They are factory target grips for K/L frame or N frame revolvers...

Can look at the inside top of the grips and tell if they are K/L or N frames...if there is a lot of space behind the semi-circular raised wood on the backside probably N frame...just a bit of space(like less than an 1/8th inch) maybe K/L frame combats
