I have a set of Lee carbide dies for 44 magnum, and a steel set of RCBS for the same. I have been using the Lee sizer, but using the rest of the RCBS set, as I dislike the Lee "lockrings". I have always had a problem with boolit pull in hot loads. I assumed the RCBS expander was too big. I finally pulled it out today, and measured it. .425". Should be plenty tight for a .431" slug. Maybe it's not the expander. I sized a case in the Lee carbide sizer, and measured the outside diameter, then sized the same case in the RCBS. .004" tighter in the RCBS. I loaded 6 rounds, and all of a sudden, I can see the boolit base and lube groove in the brass of the loaded round. I am betting my boolit pull problem is solved, or greatly improved. I am embarrassed to say it took quite a few years for me to come to this solution. I guess, never assume everything is in spec, measure to be sure.

Yeah I have had a few of those DUH moments over the years myself.
