My friend Jason has a full military 1903 Springfield.( no optics )

He really likes the SAECO # 315 sized .311" with 17.5 grs. of 2400.

He shoots the load well !

( He has asked that I write in my will that he gets the SAECO # 315 mold ! )

That's 5 rounds at 50 yards off the bench with metallic military sights.
He is using a " 6 oclock hold " on the target.

Great grouping, Nothing like an older US military rifle.

I suspect that there in more than a great mold involved in that group.

I must say that I had a blast today. The old girl will shoot like that all day if I hold her steady. The barrel is a high standard replacement dated July 1944. Nothing like a nice old milsurp to spend a "sick" day away from the school I work at. Btw, I have had the best teacher when shooting and loading comes up. The load is one of Ben's pet loads. He failed to mention he finished the stock, glass bedded it and made it right.

A teacher can't do much without a great student.

That is nothing short of fantastic. jadcock, I am glad you realize what a great mentor and friend you have there. I wish I had the opportunity of coming along side someone like Ben. I can see that none of that mentorship is wasted on you. You are doing very good. I would love to have an 03 to do just what you did today. Keep up the good work. I see a Saeco #315 in your future.
