Need help with Rossi 92 serial number

My brother just inherited a Rossi 92 in .44mag from my dad. We would really like to know when the gun was made but are having no luck finding any info. on the gun.

The serial # is M0004xx

Any help would be great!

Is there an importer name listed on it? It'll help to know what era it's from, Braztec being the most recent, Legacy Sports (LSI) or Interarms are older, and if it has the cats head on the side it's even OLDER.......
