I looked at a couple Big Boys at Scheels today. The rifling looks like Marlin's micro-groove. Can that be??

Well what ever kind of rifling it is I brought home a new 45 Colt Big Boy today.

Congrats on a fine rifle purchase from a company with great product support. I'm not sure of what Henry is doing for barrel rifling. Micro groove rifling will shoot fine with a fat bullet or at least my Marlin 357C does.

Went out today in the cold and wind. Frozen fingers ice under my feet. Only shot at 10,15 and 25 yards off hand but I think I'm really going to like this gun. Shot 2 boxes of my reloads and about ten factory Winchester 250 gr. It seemed to shoot all three loads well, and really liked the LEE 452 230 TC TL with 6.5 of Red Dot.

Doesn't the 44mag Big Boy have the 1:38 twist?
Will it shoot the heavy bullets well, or is the twist too slow?
