I had about 300 pounds of once fired range pick up brass in calibers I didn't use as well as berdan primed .308 cases. All good stuff but a pain to sell because people want large quantities of matching head stamps. Yesterday I started to fill up the trash can then decided to look up a scrap yard near by.
$1.82 a pound:) I had no idea scrap brass was going for so much.

I took 18 lbs. of damaged brass and spent primers in last summer and got $2.86 a pound. Yes the price of brass has gone down.

Last time I cashed in range brass I got enough for a pound of powder. Can't argue with that.

i like to trade for lead when possible ! when i bought a jeep once it was full of bags of aluminum cans ( smashed ) lead was low at the time and i took home over 3 times the weight of the cans ,now it's not as good but copper, brass, and aluminum are always worth saving ( and trading )

You think scrap brass brings some good prices, melt some range scrap and cash in the left over brass jackets!

If your scrappers will take them .... mine wouldn't . I wound up boxing up 80 odd lbs and mailing it to a guy in Oh so he could swap for lead and pay me a buck a lb.

I use a lot of brass barsotck 1/4-3" sizes and that stuff is very pricy.

Used to get it for $1/#. Now it runs $4.50+ bucks a pound.

Haven't tried lately, but the last time they were glad to get my scrap brass, jackets and primers. I traded for lead and brought all I could haul (KIA) home.

In summer 2007 I got almost $5 a pound for scrap yellow brass. A couple of months ago I got $2.58 a pound. Good and bad, good when you sell, bad when you have to buy.
