Anyone using 5744 in the 348. I'm using 200gr &250 gr cast boolits sized to 350. The rifle is a Browning carbine.
Thanks for any help.

I started with 28.0 grains under an Accurate 220 grain boolit, and intended to go up to 35.0 grains but I ran out and haven't seen any 5744 for sale for a while. Accuracy was OK, but I didn't shoot enough to form a real good opinion. The Lyman No. 4 lists 28.0-37 grains in the 35 whelen with a 200 grain boolit, with a max pressure of 38,400 cup. In the larger .348 cases, pressure will be lower, but how much?
My 1951 Winchester prefers WW-760 for full power loads, while I have been having a ton of fun shooting 358-429 boolits sized .350 over 13 grains of Red Dot. At fifty yards, those shoot minute of cotton tail and are a lot less abusive to my crippled, old back.

I have some 760 powder, I'll try it. I have been using 54.0 grs. of H4831 but am about out of it.
Thanks
