My 6mm/06 has had it, its done. Cant get a 100gn bullet to seat close to the lands.
I want to keep the barrel because it is 28" and that length is expensive and it also has a break witch I want to keep. The break keeps muzzle rise down so I can spot my shots on long shots.
I want to bore it out to 25/06 or 6.5/06
Does anyone know where I might get this done?

I met and shot with Norm at a couple buffalo gong shoots in ND. I don't currently have a contact number for him. Anyone have something?

been a year at least, since I checked some recommended places to rebore a barrel....maybe two of them. But, recall none showed going from 6mm to 25 cal. All did just larger caliber rebores.

Cant get a 100gn bullet to seat close to the lands.

Yeah, but how does it SHOOT?

It still shoots acceptably well but I have to seat the bullets out so far the cartridges disassemble in my pocket.
Norm already said he can do 6.5mm with any twist I ask.

unlucky. My MarkX has such a ridiculously long throat I cant seat anything to the lands. Shoots very, very well.

Clearwater Reboring. Had them do a couple for me so far and everything is to notch. In fact, I am about to send them another to do next week. Used to be Clif LaBounty's outfit until he sold it to the current owners.

A simple setback won't do ?

What was the turn around time with Clearwater?
A set back would help but wont be as long lived as a rebore. Also I want to keep all the length I can.
Long barrel and minimum twist = high velocity
My 6mm/06 with 28" length 1/14" twist gets just shy of 3800 fps with 85gn bullets.
That's why I want the minimum twist for this 6.5mm and keep all the barrel length I can.

Last time was about 2 months. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they say for now. I suspect it will be longer since barrels are in such short supply at the moment.

You could just set it back a couple of threads. With 28 inches to work with you won't lose much. It will be cheaper.

Just sent a barrel to them today. He told me about six weeks if it's in soon, and prices are going up in April.

They are correct. If the bore is good then just have a few threads removed and recut the chamber and you are good to go.

It was funny I noticed this thread as I saw someone at the range with a 28" barrel and I just had to ask why so darn long lol. And he stated that as the throat would wear out he would just cut off a few threads and re chamber and then it was as good as new till he wore out that throat. :)
