Anyone loading these in .41 magnum? Looking for medium field loads. I have most of the common shotgun pistol powders available. Liking power pistol a lot but have had good results with red dot and 231in other magnum.

Thanks.

I have that NOE mould, but haven't had a chance to work with it yet. I'm going to try 8 grs. of Unique and work up towards 9 grs. for a medium field load. This worked well for me using a 220 Keith SWC. 9 grs. and a 220 is plenty snappy in a 4" Mountain Gun.

800x is the only shotgun powder I have used but it is just fine--7 gr for poping-- then you can go up - 8oox makes a good one powder for a lot of things in the .41

NOE, oh! ONE.... I get it! I could not fathom a ONE .41 230gr... anyways...

Here are some old targets but loads I still like and use.
Not the best shooting for the day but I'm pleased with them for general purpose shooting.

I use 7gr of red dot with a 196gr WC in 41 Mag.
So, Yeah ! Red Dot. adjust your charge accordingly for that 230gr boolit

I have Blammers NOE design and have had a bit of a chance to work with it. It is a superb design and also cycles well in my lever actions. I have been getting 2-3" groups at 25-30 yards regularly with this boolit. Mine drop right at 230gr with COWW and 2%tin added.

Just for reference out of a S&W M57 using that boolit:

17.5gr 2400 yielded an average velocity of 1211 over a 10 shot string. SD and ES werent the greatest. Accuracy was in the 2.5-3.5" range at 25 yards rested.

15gr of AA#9 yielded an average velocity of 1268 over a 10 shot string with low SD and ES. Accuracy was in the 1.5-2" range rested at 25 yards.

6.5gr of W231 yielded an average velocity of 872 over a 10 shot string with low SD and ES. Accuracy was in the 2.5-3" range rested at 25 yards. Average velocity was up to 917 in a 7.5" Redhawk.

Hope this helps.

**Blammer** are those 1" squares on that target? Nice shootin at 50 yards IMHO. Also judging by the lower target, the bullet seems to be group better if run faster as opposed to slower which is what I saw using the AA#9 vs the 231. I've got to do some more work with the 2400. With the wide swing in SD and ES, I feel the 2400 wasnt flowing well through the meter I was using for it.
