Proper bore rider fit

For optimum accuracy, should I be able to slide the nose of a bore rider boolit (in my case a 311299) into the muzzle by hand, without tapping? Thanks!

I work my alloy till I get some engraving when chambering.
that nose needs some support and the best support you can give it is to hold it straight and keep it that way during it's trip.
