I bought the inexpensive open Lee press a while back. It's purpose was just to do some decapping. Fast forward. I recently came into a couple thousand cast reloads. I don't want to shoot them, but I definitely want to re-use the brass, primers and lead. I bought the Hornady puller w/appropriate collets. My question is: is the standard Lee press stout enough to use for bullet pulling?

Yep, it'll do. I've actually pulled a few bullets with Lee's hand loader too. I believe the "C" press will work fine...

Yes! The C-Type press is fine for that.

I too have the Hornady puller. You mean the type w/ a lever that is shifted over to lock & unlock the collet, right? I have not used it on cast boolits. I would think The collet should hold cast fine. If not, rest a thick, steel washer on top of the press. The hole in the washer should be just a bit bigger then the boolit.

Run the loaded round up through the washer. Clamp down on the boolit w/ vice grips. Lower the case.

Drop the boolits in a box and send them to me for further study and analysis of the vice grip effect! ;)

Yep. I've used a C press and a hand press.... they'll do it. 8-)

I have used my Lee Reloader C-frame to form .357 B&D and .400 Cor-Bon, it will be just fine.

Totally ruins the boolit but yes, I have done it using a Lee "C" press. I use a kinetic puller now. Saves EVERYTHING to reuse!
