I need a favor from someone with a Ruger SP101...

Thanks in advance for the help.

I ordered a SP101 for gift and want to make and put a set of custom Aluminum grip inserts in place of the factory wood ones. Not sure when it will be in but hopefully soon.

So on to the favor...would anyone mind giving me some general size dimensions as well as a fairly accurate thickness measurement? Hopefully this way I can get the aluminum ahead of time and get it rough shaped. The gun has to be completely finished by April and I plan on giving the action a good polishing job and have a fair amount of engraving done on it. So any thing I can do to speed up the process is appreciated.

If the grip panels are the same as the GP100/Redhawk, I can pull the panels from my GP100 and measure the thickness, maybe take a pic on graph paper.

I am not sure if they are or not, but I imagine the thickness would be similar. I would think the gp100 would be a hair bigger if anything so at least I would have enough material. So if you are willing to I would appreciate it.
