I bought this mold as I thought I could cast 120ish and 160ish grain bullets, but I just dont grasp it. I am guessing that it will only cast 160 grain, and the 120ish grain version would be the same mold but would drop the last two grease grooves off. Any idea if I am looking at this right or am I missing something.

if you use an alloy that has less lead and more tin and ant and other stuff it will be lighter.

The Lyman 311241 was made in two versions, a 125 gr and a 155 gr.
It sounds like you have the 155 gr.

Thats what I expected, I could only find info showing one pic with two weights, I thought that perhaps by some chance the mold may seperate at the second groove dropping the rear end off, would have made a good 30 carbine round to try, regardless I have use for the current mold and i'll keep hunting, thanks for the confirmation.
