I got my NIB Star up & running tonight! Woozer! Talk about warp speed! I sized & lubed 50 Lee SWC bevel base in just a matter of a few minutes! Compared to the old RCBS LAM, it seems 8X as fast! :o

I also got the Star heater and am using Lyman Orange lube. This is my first time using a lube that actually requires heat. The setting Star made @ the factory seems perfect for the Lyman Orange. Lyman Orange is much cleaner (not sticky) then 50/50 beeswax/Alox lube.

I attatched an old, plastic, Speer condom bullet box (when was the last time you saw bullets come in a plastic box?) to one of the studs that retain the heater to the bench. The box sits raised above the heater base (the flat washers, lock washers & nuts act as spacers) I put a fender washer and 1 nut in the box to hold the box down to one of the studs. The box holds the die removal tool, the punch the Star was shipped with, and an allen wrench for the punch nuts Lathesmith made me.

I got a small, Plano, 5-compartment plastic box from Wally World to hold the dies / punches Lathesmith made me. It cost $2.00 + change. Each compartment will hold a die and two punches.

Following the advice of posters here; I pre-lubed the first 4 boolits with plenty of 50/50 lube and ran them through the die as I got a feel for the tool.

I am super happy with the Star and with Lathesmith's dies and punches! 8-)

Since the rule is: W/O pictures, it never happened! Here are the pics!
