I got out today, pushing snow up to the bumper on my F150, but finally made it out in woods to do some chronographing. 41 degrees outside, but I kept the ammo about room temperature of 70 degress. Pact 1 Chrongraph, all loads shot at 15 feet.

First my Sig/Sauer P229 in .40 S&W.

5.5gr. Unique/ Lee 401-175 TC 1.135" OAL Average= 947 fps
Tumble lubed LLA/JPW ACWW unsized
Shot the same load in my Glock 23 .40 S&W, the results were nearly identical, the Glock 28 fps faster.

Next 45 ACP Kimber 1911.

5.8 gr. Unigue/ Lee TL 452-230 TC 1.175" OAL Average= 859 fps
6.0 gr. Unique/ Lee TL 452-230 TC 1.175" OAL Average= 901 fps
air cooled WW/PB Tumble lubed LLA/JPW unsized

None of the loads were corrected for the 15 feet distance to chrono screens.

Thanks for the results, gonna start reloading for my P94 and was thinking about which powder and load to use. Also been going to get the Lee 125RF for the 9mm's and 357's.

Thanks, Hickok...you saved me the trouble of hauling my gear out today in 13 degree weather...in KY no less. Rod

3 legs and Rod you fella's are welcome. I have been burning up my Unique, gonna have to get (find) some more!

Rodfac that is a little brittle for down your way! Brings to mind a story my Dad told me. He took basic training at Ft Knox Kentucky in 1950. They went all winter in summer issue, and when March arrived, they received their winter issue!

A chrony is a valuable tool for sure. I have some boxes of loads ready to go, just don't want to do it right now.
