use of a sizer

:confused:I have not cast my first boolit yet. I am getting the things I need together. I have got a die for my 30 caliber(.30-.30) and it is supposed to be .309. If it is too loose, small can a sizer
make it into a .310 or does a sizer only make the boolits smaller. I know you folks are falling out of your chairs with this one.

Sizer only makes it smaller. A mold will typically drop boolits .001-.003 larger than the advertised size (unless it is a Lee mold, then all bets are off).

I have had more RCBS and Lyman molds that dropped small than Lee. The new generation Lee molds typically drop +.0025 using No.2 alloy.

OP - sizers typically size down, ie smaller, but some do bump-up.
