Where to find 45-70 brass

So I don't know if this would be the right place for this thread but ah well it seems right. I have just ordered a c sharps Bridgeport in 45-70 and it should be in around late April or may hopefully. The problem is that I'm having trouble finding brass, I've looked everywhere that i can think of and still nothing. Does anyone happen to know where to find some? I do have 200 pieces back ordered on track of the wolf, but would really like to find some so that I can quite worrying about if I will be able to even shoot the gun when it comes in.

Good luck, I have been on the notification list at just about everywhere that will do that for months now. I did find some in the Swapping and Selling section. If any comes up though I wouldn't ruminate long on it. I just happen catch it right.

You just missed out on the Starline run of 45-70. I noticed in December that Starline switched their order page from "Out of Stock" to "Backorder" - I put 250 on backorder thinking I'd see it in six months, but two weeks later it was sitting on my doorstep. Funny thing is that a couple of guys I shoot with have had it on backorder at BACO for the past year and are still waiting. Sometimes it pays to keep checking the source...

That is exactly what I did in Dec...put it on backorder and told SWMBO that we would not be sending money for several months....2 weeks later I got the email, "the look" and my brass. :lol:

I got an email notification from MidwayUSA last night they'd just received Starling 45/70 brass. I got 200 hundred coming my way now. I'm still waiting for 45 Colt (estimated August delivery). Good luck.

@prs61109 you are my new hero!! Lol, thank you for letting me know. I just ordered 300 pieces and should be in on the 26. I can't tell you how thankful I am! Now at least I'm not afraid that I won't be able to shoot my new gun when it comes in.

You are welcome. I recently purchased my first 45/70 (a used Pedersoli Sharps Quigley) along with a hundred reloads from the previous owner. I'm looking forward to shooting it if Spring ever shows up. Lots to learn about reloading BP cartridge in the meantime. Lots of good information here from experienced BP shooters.
