No sympathy from me.
Maybe a little envy - but no sympathy.
:drinks:
It looks as though you're well on the way to having a nice .358 model 99 and that's a fine thing to have indeed.
Congratulations!

Excellent reasons to never look at Gunbroker, some days it's good to know when to make an exception. Good call and congrats!

I look at GB all the time! Just a good thing my budget doesn't allow me much relief from my swollen want glands!

Last time I looked there I ended up with a 7.5in Ruger BH 45Colt. I de-registered so I can now look but not immediately bid on stuff. Sure has saved me some money

Never bought anything there, I started to register there once, because there was a stock on it I would have liked to have, but I answered one of the questions wrong or something and they came back wanting more info than I cared to give out.

Congrats on the M99.

I have a few 99s. I recently got a .358 Brush gun 99 I'm working with and am please so far.

I also have a 99E in .308 I like a lot. In fact, the E has the older style safety by the trigger which I prefer over the tang safety of the later .358. I think you have a winner.

Looks in pretty good shape to me except for the stock. I'm not a big fan of light stocks either. There is an interesting story in The WSJ today about Bitcoin.

My E had light surface rust all over it and the stock was awful. refinished the stock, but some DPO had put some ball detent type sling swivel cups in it that really can't be fixed. Oh well. the rifle is very functional and shoots well. I like the trigger safety as opposed to the tang since when I hunt in winter, my gloves usually have exposed finger tips but not thumb tips. I also think (usually) the trigger pulls are better on those rather than the tang safeties though I can't prove it.

I know what you mean. It's like the Mouse Button is on automatic Bid if I linger to Long. Yikes!!!
But it is Fun.
