Looks like everybody and his dog are making 1911s and AR-15s. Cool. :-D

Remington and I think Bushmaster are owned by the same company
So Remington can have a Black rifle with their name on it

I heard the parent company of Rem is looking to buy a handgun manufacture also

Cerebrus also recently purchased DPMS, another AR-15 maker. I suspect they're trying to get their finger into the government contract pie, personally. At any rate, hopefully we'll see something new and different in EBRs. I dunno about anybody else, but I'm about all 'tacticaled' out. I don't want yet another M4 clone or another Special Purpose Rifle clone. Let's see some innovation!

I just saw that on Remingtons site the other day, too. Interesting.

I just got a DPMS DCM upper to shoot highpower competion with about a month ago. Only had it to the range a couple times, but man, what a tack driver! After doing some barrel break in and getting the sights centered, I shot 15 round onto a 100 yd. smallbore target. All 15 went into the X ring!
If they can pull Remington, Bushmaster and DPMS together they may really have something!

Figures. They bring out a super expensive jammamatic (I'm chain rattling here, don't kill me!) and I'm still hoping for a re-issue of the #4 Rolling block boys rifle in 32 S+W Long, 22 Lr and maybe a 25CF duplicating the 25 Stevens Long. Oh yeah- For under $250.00 too. I'm in for a loooooonnnnnnggggggg wait......

Yes they will shoot just as well as any other of the more "popular" rifles but DPMS is what I shoot and it took me to master last season :drinks:

GROUP BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you just wish? If someone gave you the action you couldn't do it for $250. Them days are long gone.

I can dream can't I? Maybe some Indian entrepreneur or Pakistani Mullah will decide to rake in gobs of cash by producing my dream rifle.

Ok, maybe not.....

And today I learned that Remington has bought Marlin/NEF/H&R! I HOPE that bodes well for things, but I'll not hold my breath.

Here's my DPMS. Fluted right down under the guard all the way back. It's a 1:8, and of course a FAB-10 CA legal lower for all the anti-gun nazi's out there..

I've only shot 200 break in rounds so far.

Tim what twist is yours and what bullet/load do you use?

Its 20" 1:8
Loads For short line 200yd reduce corse matches I use a 55 gr midway dogtown flat base spitzer or a 55gr Hornady Vmax and 23.0 grs of Albanian pulled down powder from 54R ammo( HUGH fire ball:twisted: but shoots very well) ,XTC 200and 300 I use same powder and 69 gr serria match or 60 gr hornady Vmax both shoot well . 600 yd 75 gr hornady Amax and 24 grs of Reloader 15 these are loaded way out past mag length. and shoot extremely well in my barrel my personal best with that load is 198-14X

I picked up a Rock River 20" Varmint, and have only fired 15 El-Cheapo rounds through it. You guys are making me get interested in it again. I have a Leupold 4.5-14 IR Vari-X III on it. No I didn't pay full price for the scope, I got it for 150$, the only reason it's on there!

Rock River and DPMS both use the same SS barrel .They are both Wilson SS barrels with 1:8 twist on their varmit and DMC uppers, Fantastic barrel that dont foul hardly at all and will shoot better than you can!

I have a last series before the Klinton Ban Colt AR 15 HBAR NM, I don't shoot cast thru it. I use the 69 gr Sierra BTHP in it.

Yes, everybody is making ARs and 1911 these days, If you want a 1911 that shoots well, buy a Kimber.
