I wanted to get a sample and have it tested. I tried to empty pot to clean it out, but this **** wont come out. Normally the tiny bit of lead left in the bottom of my promelt will pop right out, not no more. Any idea of how I can clean this **** out of my pot?

Reheat and carefully pour out the top?

Hit the pour nozzle with a propane torch to heat it up really good. It'll come out...

The spout isn't froze up. Doesn't drip and pours perfectly. Just has the nasty stuff stuck on the bottom and sides. Wonder if I can sandblast it off?

Empty the pot, take whatever pour control you have off the pot, get a 1 1/2 - 2 inch wire wheel, chuck it in your cordless drill, and brush it clean. that's what I did. it works, pot is clean afterwards. breathe in and out. be calm.. all is well.

Use a dusk mask and glasses while doing this.

if didn't get too hot. 111 pc board cleaner will remove the rosin flux. But it's nasty stuff to breath.

I'll third this one, put 5# back in the pot get it hot and flux 2-3 times most of the rosin will be removed.

+ 4 on the fill it up and melt it !!! rosin is the very best flux , it'll eventually burn out/off, in the meantime ...just be glad it wasnt acid cored solder

to be fair if i feel i need a lil dab of tin i oft add a lil strip of rosin cored solder , the rosin helps flux it right in

When you use pine sawdust or a pine stick to stir your melt, your introducing resin. Resin is where rosin comes from. Load some lead in that pot and fire it off. Boolits need to be pretty, not the pot.
