It is obviously a Winchester Model 94, but has this designation. It's in a local shop, well worn but sound. It has an odd metal endcap on the forearm I never saw on a '94 before though. Is this something someone did as his own personalization or was it from the factory?

I'm guessing this one is from the 60's sometime. It has a metal buttplate rather than plastic.

I surfed through a bunch of images and they all had metal forend caps. Unless someone replaced it with their own, it's probably original.

Looks strange. Not a bad rifle and not a bad price on it either. Don't really need another .30-30, but I sure do like 94 Winchesters.

Can't go wrong with a Winny 94. If anything, it is a symbol of a bygone era (guns sold at Sears)

Back in those days (50s & 60s) a few of Sears rifles were contract made by Winchester. As was a Sears popular bolt rifle which was also made by Husqvarna. That's a stretch in recall for me. But I believe that's how it was.

I have an old savage that is sears badged. Years ago I picked up a 30/30 for my son that was marked revelation or something like that. IIRC they were made for monkey wards.

I think the Revelation brand was from Western Auto.

I have a Western Auto Marlin 336. My Savage 340 is also marked Sears. I know Winchester sold a version of the 670 under the Sears name too. Usually, it seems they were more or less standard versions of the same guns which is why that weird metal forend cap stood out.

I like '94s, generally, I'd prefer them over a Marlin. I can also think of all kinds of possibilities for this one, but I really have too many projects going unfinished now.
